The crucifixion
This story is the center of the Christian faith His Story and it is the most important event of all History.

1. John the Baptist saw Jesus coming to him for Baptism (John 1:29-34). He said “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (verse 29).
   a. In the Old testament a lamb was brought to the priests to temporarily cover the sins of the people. What is different here in the New Testament (who does the ceremony, what is the effect in terms of time)?
   
   b. Who brings the lamb in this case, and why this is so crucial?
   
   c. What does “the world” mean in this verse? Does that apply to us? Under which condition?
2. Did Jesus resist His arrest, what did He do instead (Luke 22:47-50)?
3. In His trial before the religious leaders, what did they ask Him (Luke 22:67,70)?
4. What three things He was accused of (Luke 23:2)?
5. Did Jesus answer the questions (Luke 23:9)?
6. Did Herod and Pilate find any reasons to crucify Jesus (Luke 23:15)?

8. What was the reason that the Romans and religious leaders finally agreed to crucify Jesus (Luke 23:23-25)?
