A. Noah and the Flood
- How does God evaluate the moral and spiritual condition of people during that time? (Genesis 6:5)
- How did God feel about he saw in the behavior of people? (Genesis 6:6)
- What did God determine the solution had to be? (Genesis 6:7 and 13).
- What was God’s reason for His action? Was it love, holiness, justice, or mercy?

.” - God gave Noah some specific instructions. How thoroughly did he carry them out (verse 22)? What relationship does this commitment on Noah’s part have to his faith in God? What does this relationship between faith and action say about the status or vitality of your faith in God?
- In what specific ways do you think God has shown you His favor to Noah? Why do you think He does this? Was is His love, holiness, justice, or mercy?
- For how long did the flood waters continue to rise on the earth? (Genesis 7:17)
- How much of the earth was covered? (Genesis 7:19)
- What perished as a result? (Genesis 7:21-23)
- Who survived? How many people?
- What signal did Noah wait for before coming out of the ark? (Genesis 8:15-18)
- After Noah and his family came out of the ark, God pronounces a blessing on Noah. (Genesis 9:1-3) Identify some differences between this blessing and the blessing He gave Adam in Genesis 1:28-30?
- What were the instructions that God gave Noah and his family? What were the restrictions He placed on them? (Genesis 9:4-7)
- What covenant promise did God make? (Genesis 9:11) What was the sign of this covenant promise? (v. 12-17)
- Before the tower was built, how many languages were spoken on the earth? (Genesis 11:1)
- Had man changed after the flood? Did they now try to obey God? (Genesis 11:4)
- We see that they went explicitly against God’s command to cover the whole earth and they knew it (“otherwise we will be scattered…”). Instead of trusting God to care for them when they would explore the earth, they wanted to stay together in one big city. And they wanted a huge tower. It sounds like pride and maybe it was a way to defy/challenge God. For whom did they want to build that big tower? (Genesis 11:4)
