As followers of Jesus we need to set our priorities right.
1. My relationship with God
2. My personal lifestyle in line with God’s plan
3. My family (marriage, kids, parents)
4. My work (make a living, serve in church, study)
5. The world (friends, neighbors, mission)
Last week we focused on priorities 1 and 2. Today, we’ll focus on priorities 3 through 5.

Read Ephesians 5:21-33.
We find biblical instructions for a lasting marriage.

As believers we have an opportunity to show “the world” what “a Kingdom home” is about. The family is under attack these days. However, a Kingdom home exists of married Christian parents, raising children in a Christlike way.

Married couples leave their parents (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31). Why would God say that?
Ephesians 6:1-4 says 1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. 4Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Colossians 3:21 says Fathers (or parents) do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
1 Timothy 5:4, 8 says 4But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. 8Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Employees are no slaves. At work employees should be kingdom employees. Masters are now called employers. They should be kingdom employers. Master with capital M is God.
Ephesians 6:5-9 says 5 Slaves (employees), obey your earthly masters (employers) with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves (followers) of Christ, doing
REVEAL ANSWER from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free (employees). 9 And masters (employers), treat your slaves (employees) in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.Question 8

The “Kingdom of darkness” rules this world. But we need to be light in that darkness as ambassadors of another kingdom. Be intentional to witness more about your faith than being influenced by the world. How? Don’t talk about religion but talk about God.

What about gossip? Look at Psalm 1:1.
In Matthew 5:13-16 Jesus says 13 You are the
REVEAL ANSWER of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 You are the REVEAL ANSWER of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.Question 18
Christians are the salt to prevent society from becoming corrupt. Discuss examples that you may have. Write down your conclusion.
