Summary: Exodus is about deliverance. The Israelites had moved to Egypt during a famine. While there, they were made slaves. Because the Israelites were God's people, God appointed Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the Promised Land, Canaan. On the way there, the Israelites stopped at Mount Sinai, where God gave his people the Ten Commandments.
