Why and how should I read the Bible

Jesus was tempted by the devil at the beginning of His public ministry. In His response to a mean trap, Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 8:3 saying Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. 人活着,不是单靠食物,更要靠 神口里所出的一切话。(Matthew 4:4) Jesus immediately stressed the importance, truth, and power of the Word of God, the Bible.
The Bible is the most popular, published, translated, read, powerful, and precious (Psalm 19:9b-10) book in the world.
Bringing revelation - God has spoken
the Bible is a collection of 66 books written by 40 authors over a period of 1500 years. All the content is inspired, God-breathed. Therefore, 2 Timothy 3:16 says
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. 全部圣经都是 神所默示的,在教训、责备、矫正和公义的训练各方面,都是有益的
Also, 2 Timothy 3:15,17 states ..the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus… so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The Bible has authority and provides wisdom, guidelines for living, and guidance for good decisions.
