Is there more to life than this
Most people ask questions like:
- Is there more to life than this?
- What am I doing here on earth?
- What is the purpose of my life?
- Where am I heading?
This and many other questions will be asked and answered in this course.

At the heart of the Christian faith is a person: Jesus Christ. Today we focus on the claims that Jesus made about Himself. The main carbohydrate food in Northern-China is nuddle, in Southern-China rice, and in the Middle-East and Western-Europe bread.
Jesus said of Himself I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty 我就是生命的食物，到我这里来的，必定不饿；信我的，永远不渴。 (John 6:35)
Jesus uses lots of metaphors. In this case bread.
Question 2
If we look beyond our physical needs: What should we do if we are spiritually hungry, based on the verse above?
Jesus made many I AM claims. We know from the Scriptures (the Bible) that the phrase I AM is one of the names of God. Jesus is the Son of God. Therefore, for Him it is legitimate to claim this name for Himself.
Jesus claims in John 14:6 I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 我就是道路、真理、生命，如果不是借着我，没有人能到父那里去。
Question 3
How can Jesus be so exclusive? Are there really no other ways to reach God or Heaven? This statement may even offend you. Reflect on this in the box below.
The way
The Bible makes clear that Jesus is the lens through which we see God. He is the only way to God. The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Jesus Christ. He is not a way, as in one of many; He is the way, as in the one and only. No one, regardless of reputation, achievement, special knowledge, or personal holiness, can come to God the Father except through Jesus. Jesus is also the lens by which we see the world in a totally different dimension and clarity.
Jesus is the only way to heaven for several reasons. Jesus was “chosen by God” to be the Savior (1 Peter 2:4). Jesus is the only One to have come down from heaven and returned there (John 3:13). He is the only person to have lived a perfect human life (Hebrews 4:15). He is the only sacrifice for sin (1 John 2:2; Hebrews 10:26). He alone fulfilled the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 5:17). He is the only man to have conquered death forever (Hebrews 2:14–15). He is the only Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). He is the only man whom God has “exalted … to the highest place” (Philippians 2:9).

Have these many verses brought you closer to the conviction that Jesus is the only way to God the Father, who is in Heaven?
The truth
Jesus is the Word, as John 1:1 says In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.太初有道，道与 神同在，道就是 神。 When Jesus prayed for His disciples He prayed Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 求你用真理使他们成圣；你的道就是真理。
Truth can be understood intellectually as head knowledge. But it can also be understood in a personal relationship as heart knowledge. Jesus longs for a personal relationship with each of us. He wants to redeem us from the slavery of sin. He says in John 8:31-32 If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. 你们若持守我的道，就真是我的门徒了；32你们必定认识真理，真理必定使你们自由。
Question 5
Reflect on the Biblical fact that the truth can set us free. What are the condictions mentioned to be liberated?
The life
In Revelation 3:1 Jesus says to the church in Sardis I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 我知道你的行为，你有名声，说你是活着的，其实你是死的。
Jesus is the giver of everlasting life. He defeated the “angel of death”, Satan, by His resurrection from the dead on the third day.

Is there anyone else than Jesus who rose from the dead and never died again? Is He able to give you new life (John 10:10)? Reflect on this in the box below.
